According to the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, in 2005, 1,330 Texas teens under the age of 15 became pregnant and in the age group of 15-19, 73,270 teens became pregnant causing Texas to have the 4th largest teen pregnancy rate in the United States.

The Midland Purity Ball wants to be the catalyst that draws you and your daughter together. Our goal is to celebrate and facilitate the shared commitment between fathers and daughters to a life of purity in the Lord. The Ball is intended to help fathers begin or reinforce a meaningful relationship with their daughters. We believe that the fathers are the primary example of what their daughter will look for in relationships and later, a husband; that they are the protectors and responsible to guide their daughters into healthy adulthood. As the most influential teacher over their daughters, committing to lead a life of integrity and accountability will help to ensure their daughters will follow their example and realize that they are worth waiting for. The father is the most important male relationship and role model your daughter has until she gets married.

This event will open the door for the fathers to commit to pursue the hearts of the daughter by working on strengthening your relationship and letting the daughters know how much they are loved and how special they are in the eyes of their father and the Lord. When fathers and daughters spend time together, they can create an environment to share openly with each other, learning how to understand each other.
