Information
Date: March 28, 2009 (Saturday)
Time: 6:00 to 11:00 pm
Place: Commemorative Air Force Museum Airplane Hangar
Cost: $55 per person
Who: Fathers and their daughters, 7th through 12th grade (If fathers are not able to attend, young ladies may invite a grandfather, brother, or uncle to serve as their escort and support them in their commitment.)
Program: The program will include a formal dinner, father daughter dancing, an opportunity for commitment, and a special program by the popular Christian music group BarlowGirl. This dynamic trio of young women will be discussing their commitments to purity, sharing some of their music with acoustic guitars, and even answering questions submitted by the audience.
Prerequisite: Parents should discuss sexual purity with their daughters before the event. See Resources for sources of information on how to facilitate the conversation.
We want to emphasize that this event is about the future, and not about the past. If the purity ball were only for pure people, no one could attend. If you have made bad choices in the past as a father or as a daughter, so has everyone else. This event is to celebrate Gods forgiveness of the past, and His grace for the future, as we commit ourselves to the highest standards of purity in all areas of our lives.
Attire: Gentlemen should wear a suit or a sport coat and tie. Young ladies should wear a formal dress. Since one of the objectives of the Purity Ball is to encourage communication between fathers and daughters, use this as an opportunity to discuss clothing with your dad.
